Samuel Baud-Bovy, spent several years in Greece around 1929-1931, where he studied the folk music of Dodecanese. He collected around 281 songs, which were published in the two volumes of “Chansos du Dodecanese”, Athens 1935, 1938.
The first two tracks of this album come from the island of Karpathos, and represent perhaps the oldest recording of Karpathian folk Music. Circa 1930-1932.
