A few years after completing my studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, I returned to the town where I had spent some of the most formative years of my life. It was 1997.

The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and its community had always been a spiritual beacon for Christians in the area. During my time there, I briefly served in their Byzantine Choir, and I felt compelled to capture a recording as a memento.

Decades later, I stumble upon a humble DAT recording of the choir—a homage to the memory of its late director Professor Michael Petrowitch, whose influence continues to inspire me. I also pay tribute to Reverend Joseph J. Tzougros, for his profound yet accessible church sermons back then.
